Meet Shay Hata: Your Chicago Real Estate Agent
A Dartmouth grad and former owner of a successful small business, I specialize in the sale of new and existing homes in the Chicagoland area. Prior to real estate I oversaw the marketing and public relations campaigns for Fortune 500 companies in New York City before opening a children’s education company in Minneapolis, MN which I eventually sold before entering real estate.
Why I’m Different
Leveraging my experience as a successful business owner, I am known for outstanding client service, 24/7 availability, high tech marketing techniques, personal touches and as a skilled negotiator with my client’s best interests at heart. I believe strongly that it is not only my duty to represent my clients to the best of my ability, but also to educate them throughout every step of the process armed with top notch information and market insight, so that my clients make the best decisions possible. I am honest, sometimes telling clients things they might not want to hear, hard working and extremely knowledgeable about the real estate industry, having worked with top agents around the country.
I Believe In Giving Back
I am a firm believer in giving back and am particularly passionate about animal rescue. I volunteer with several rescue organizations and donate a portion of each commission to local animal rescue groups on behalf of my clients. Currently I donate to Starfish Animal Rescue and One Tail at a Time unless my client has a favorite charity they would like me to donate to instead. I am also a member of Realtors to the Rescue, which rescues animals from abandoned or foreclosed buildings and supports local rescues and shelter groups financially.
In My Free Time
I love to read, play tennis, cook and do yoga in my spare time. I live in Lakeview with two crazy but loveable dogs and the love of my life, my husband, Nobu Hata, who is Director of Digital Engagement at the National Association of REALTORS and was named one of Inman News’ 100 Most Influential Real Estate Leaders in 2013.
